Mysuru: As part of its monthly music programme, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised a Bharatanatyam recital by Bharatha Nritya Sangeetha Academy, Bengaluru, led by Guru Vidwan Dr. Shubharani Bolar, at BVB premises in Vijayanagar 1st Stage here at 6 pm on Mar. 15.

Dr. Shubharani Bolar, a Classical Bharatanatyam artiste of Pandanallur style, hails from Bengaluru. Right from the tender age of 6, she showed keen interest in Dance and was initiated into the art by Guru N.N. Bhaskar and K. Muralidhar Rao and advanced training from internationally renowned Guru Adyar K. Laxman and Guru Narmada.
She has given more than 800 solo performances for 30 years and participated in major Dance Festivals throughout India and abroad. She holds a Doctorate in Botany and currently working as a Scientist at Department of Botany, Bangalore University.
Dr. Shubharani is a National ‘A’ graded artiste and her performances have been telecast on Doordarshan Regional and National network since 1986. She has the rare honour as an artiste empanelled by ICCR, New Delhi and Scholarship recipient for advanced studies in Bharatanatyam from Sangeetha Nritya Academy, New Delhi and Karnataka. She has qualified in Vidwat Dance Examination conducted by Government of Karnataka with distinction.
She founded Bharatha Nritya Sangeetha Academy at Vijayanagar, Bengaluru, in 1990 to impart training in the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam.
Many students have performed in prestigious dance festivals all over India and abroad and also in the programmes conducted by Bengaluru Doordarshan, Udaya, Zee and Shankara TV channels.
Her students have the pride of winning the first place in the Dance Reality Show Sirigejje at Kannada web TV SIRINADU and second place at Dance Jatre, conducted at Bengaluru during 2019 and 2020 respectively.
